Marathon News

Marathon Entry: Registration for the Portland Marathon and Portland Marathon Half is now closed to the general public. There are a few CHARITY ENTRIES available for both events or get in FREE by raising money for one of the charities. Registration is still open for the Portland Marathon's 10K DownHill Dash, the 10K Family Walk and the Kids Run & Family Festival . No Refunds, Exchanges, Rollovers, Deferrals or Transfers.

Marathon Expo (Hilton Hotel 921 SW Sixth Ave): Friday October 5, 11 am to 8pm & Saturday October 6 9 am to 7 pm. Confirmation letters and Photo ID must be presented at the Expo during pickup in order to receive your bib, timing chip, and goodie bag Come Friday if possible to avoid the long lines that appear on Saturday. You can buy lots of cool running gear and marathon souvenirs from the Portland Marathon Store.

PMC Expo Booth
The directors, coaches and pace group leaders of the Portland Marathon Training Clinic will be available at their booth down in the parking lot level at the expo for any last minute questions, advice and some carbo treats.

PMC Finish Line Tent
Share your marathon story with the others in your pace group and the coaches in the tent. Look straight ahead after you get your space blanket for the PMC banner. We're right there on the corner of 3rd and Main next to the medical tent.

Evening Seminar Tuesday Sept 18

The last seminar of the series is 7:00PM Tuesday Sept 18 at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, 19300 SW 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR 97062 . For map see http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=1542 . This seminar will tell you everything you need to know about running the marathon. It covers taper, carbo loading, developing a race plan, what and when to drink, the course and recovery. If you are a first timer, this is one you don't want to miss. If you are not registered for the seminar series, you can register at the door or online for $30 see http://www.teamoregon.com/pmc/. Cash and checks only at the door.

FREE Training Run Sat Sept 22 8am

The FREE run on this weekend will be 16 miles starting from Road Runner Sports Tualatin at 8 am . For driving directions see: http://www.teamoregon.com/pmc/runs/rrsdir.htm This week's course will be a scenic run through Tualatin using the first 8miles of the route see http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=737. PMC will provide aid stations at mile 2.5, 5, 8, 11 & 13.5 with water and sports drink. Sign the waiver before you run.

If you have raced, go to http://www.teamoregon.com/publication/online/wiz.html and get your marathon goal based on your race times. Groups are led by volunteer experienced marathoners. Groups range from those able to run a marathon under 3 hours to those wanting to run 5 hours.

Taper Run Sept 29 8am

This weekends' training run meets at lululemon athletica Bridgeport Village in Tigard at 8 am and will feature an 8 mile out and back in Tualatin . The FREE training run is open to anyone wishing to run with the group. Please leave your headphones, dogs and baby joggers at home.
