Portland Marathon/Half Marathon Training Clinic Starts April 6, 2013, 8AM
WEEKLY FREE GROUP TRAINING RUNS The FREE Kickoff Run for the 2013 Portland Marathon Training Clinic will be at 8AM Saturday April 6 at Mountain Hardwear 722 SW Taylor, Portland, OR Mountain Hardwear will provide refreshments following the run. The distances will be 4, 6 or 8 miles with 12 pace groups led by experienced volunteers. The groups range from those wanting to run under a 3 hour marathon to those hoping to finish in 5 hours. These will be the first of the weekly training runs that take place Saturdays until the marathon/half marathon. These runs are open to all runners . SEMINAR SERIES. The first evening seminar will be 7PM Tuesday April 16 in Room 104 Health Information Center, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, 19300 SW 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR 97062 Seminar package participants will receive 5 Tuesday evening 2 1/2 hour seminars, a book "Marathoning Start to Finish", handouts, a personalized online training schedule and log, a micro fiber Portland Marathon Training Clinic shirt plus sponsor discounts. The seminar series is $120. You can purchase a personalized online training schedule for $40. Advanced Marathon and Half Marathon Training
The advanced marathon/half marathon training program will begin in June. This 16 week program for experienced marathoners and half marathoners will offer midweek coached run or track session plus 16 week personalized online schedule and log in addition to the free Saturday runs. The midweek runs will meet at Duniway Park Thursday 6pm starting June 20th. Runs will include fartlek, hill runs and track workouts to prepare runners to race the marathon or the half.
