Patti and Warren are 2 of the founders and directors of the Portland Marathon Training Clinic. Both have long time running, competition and coaching credentials. Each has run over 75 marathon, 75 ultramarathons and numerous shorter distance races. Over the 30 year history of PMC, they have coached thousands of beginners to complete their first marathons and thousands of others to improve their performances. They spent 7 years traveling around the USA teaching RRCA Coaching Certification after developing the curriculum. Both believe strongly in the community spirit of the Portland Marathon and are happy to provide the training runs, learning and coaching opportunities.

THIRTY YEARS OF FREE RUNS

Run your first or best marathon or half marathon; join the Portland Marathon Training Clinic for the 30 year anniversary. This is the official training clinic for the marathon, has the best coaches (all RRCA certified), the most experience in training plus the free runs. Run with a group for fun and camaraderie, best of all, take advantage of the coaching offered in the seminar series and advanced clinics

FREE TRAINING RUN APRIL 6

What does FREE mean? FREE means the runs are open to anyone who wants to run the distance with a group. You do not have be enrolled in the seminar series. Join

The FREE Kickoff Run for the 2013 Portland Training Clinic will be April 6 at 8 am at Mountain Hardwear, 722 SW Taylor, Portland. Mountain Hardwear will offer post run refreshments. Please leave your headphones, dogs and baby joggers at home.

These will be the first of the weekly training runs that take place Saturdays. The first run is a 4, 6 or 8 mile run on the waterfront. There are 12 pace groups led by experienced marathoners for marathon goals from under 3 hours to 5+ hours. The clinic provides some charts to help you pick your proper pace group and the volunteer leaders will help you run the right pace and have fun.

PORTLAND MARATHON CLINIC SEMINAR SERIES

For the most marathon/half marathon success, learn everything you need to know about marathoning by coming to the evening seminars. Topics include training plans, nutrition, physiology, psychology, flexibility/strength and speedwork. This is the place to get all those burning or personal questions answered by our coaches. You can also ask the physical therapists about any aches and pains before the seminar. The first evening seminar will be 7PM Tuesday April 16 in Room 104 Health Information Center, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, 19300 SW 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR 97062 Seminar package participants will receive 5 Tuesday evening 2 1/2 hour seminars, a book "Marathoning Start to Finish", handouts, a personalized online training schedule and log, a micro fiber Portland Marathon Training Clinic shirt plus sponsor discounts. The seminar series is $120. The first clinic will discuss the basics of training, how to get to the marathon healthy and how to "finish and feel good!" ADVANCED MARATHON TRAINING

If you've run a marathon and want to improve your time, join the advanced marathon training program. This 16 week program for experienced marathoners will offer midweek coached run or track session plus 16 week personalized online schedule and log and a microfiber race shirt in addition to the free Saturday runs. The midweek runs will meet at Duniway Park Thursday 6pm starting June 20. Runs will include fartlek, hill runs and track workouts to prepare runners to race the marathon. The cost will be $90. If you registered for the Portland Half Marathon on or any other fall half and want to improve your time, join the advanced half marathon training program.
