COACHED TRACK WORKOUTS: JUNE 28 - OCT 4
MTC Coaching is for all marathoners, both first timers and those of you wanting to improve your time. The Marathon Clinic package ($150 for new/$125 for returners) includes the Saturday long run, a midweek coached run or track session, the new edition of "Marathoning Start to Finish," a personalized online training schedule and log and a microfiber Portland Marathon Training Clinic shirt. The run on June 28 takes place at Gabriel Park: http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10724. All following weekly runs will be at Duniway park. Runs will include fartlek, hills and track workouts to prepare runners to run or race the marathon. All clinic participants can learn about marathoning through the on-demand video webcasts. Topics include training plans, nutrition, physiology, psychology, flexibility/strength and speedwork. TRAINING RUN JUNE 30 AT 8:00AM
The 14 or 16 mile training runs at 8AM this Saturday begin at Portland's Road Runner Sports, 29 NW 23rd, Portland. Please do not park in Uptown Center lot, it's limited to 2 hours only and tickets will be given. Please DO find a 4-hour meter on the street or use the pay lot on NW 23rd & Glisan. The course will use the east side of the river route crossing the Tilikum with a new twist at Oaks Bottom due to planned trail closures this summer: http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10761. There will be 2 aid stations for out-and-ba0 recommended. Please no headphones, dogs or baby joggers.
TRAINING RUN JULY 7 AT 8:00AM
This 15, 16 or 18 mile run begins at 8AM at Athleta Brewery Blocks, Portland. Doors will open at 7:30AM. This week's run will be the first 7.5 - 9 miles of http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10746 .There will be 2 aid stations for out and back with thanks to Athleta. Please carry water for the best hydration. Please leave your headphones, dogs and baby joggers at home

Did you know? Coaches and group leaders are present at every run as volunteers! If you are joining the free runs, your community needs you to volunteer for one aid station during the summer. We provide the supplies and you, runners, provide the volunteers. Before your turn, we email and remind you and tell you where and when to arrive. When you show up, we give you jugs of water, already diluted sports drink, cups, pitchers, garbage bags and first aid supplies. Volunteers have been known to provide special treats such as jelly beans, gummy bears, pretzels or chips. Your friends or family can volunteer on your behalf as well. If you've never been a volunteer, this is your opportunity to help your fellow marathoners.
