Marathon Clinic News 07/10/2018
Jane has been running with the Marathon Training Clinic since 2009, and has been a group leader since 2012. She has completed 12+ marathons, and shaved off over 20 minutes from her first marathon. Jane credits the Clinic with teaching her how to train smart, avoid injuries, and how to enjoy running marathons. Her passion for mentoring runners inspired her in 2018 to become an RRCA certified running coach! When she is not running, Jane works for the City of Portland and has outdoor adventures with her husband and golden retriever.

TRAINING RUN JULY 14 - 8:00 AM
The run this Saturday will be 16 or 18 miles at 8AM from Mountain Hardwear, 722 SW Taylor, Portland. The doors will open at 7:30AM. We will run the first 8-9 miles of http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10763. Mountain Hardwear will provide 2 aid stations accessible both out and back, but you should also carry water for optimal hydration. No headphones, dogs or baby joggers please.
TRAINING RUN JULY 21 - 8:00 AM
The 16 or 19 mile training run begins at 8AM this Saturday at Road Runner Sports Portland, 29 NW 23rd. Please find a 4 hour meter on the street or use the pay lot on NW 23rd & Glisan, the Uptown Center parking lot is for 2 hours only & tickets will be given. The course will cross the Tilikum Bridge and run the first 8 or 9.5 miles of: http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10761. There will be 2 aid stations supplied by Roadrunner Sports. Carrying water or sports drink is recommended. Please no headphones, dogs or baby joggers.
AID STATIONS!! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED JULY 28, AUG 11, SEP 8
If you are joining the free runs, you are asked to volunteer for one aid station during the summer. You have 3 chances left to fulfill this obligation for free runs. Sign by clicking https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0848a5a72da2fc1-thank1 . We provide the supplies and you, runners, provide the volunteers and some snacks. Before your turn, we email you with details. When you show up, we give you jugs of water, already diluted sports drink, cups, pitchers, garbage bags and first aid supplies. Some volunteers have been known to provide special treats such as jelly beans, gummy bears, pretzels or chips. You can ask a friend or family to help on your behalf as well. We are not asking you to do something the volunteer coaches and group leaders don't do every single week - please help us help the runners.
