Marathon Clinic News 6/04/13


Brian Houston has been living in Portland for 30 years. He has been running for 6 years, three as a group leader for PMC. He has run 7 marathons including Boston 2013. Brian's other interests include camping, cooking, hunting and drinking Portland's best micro brews. He thinks running and PMC have allowed him to be in the best shape of his life, to gain many new friends and to help others achieve their running goals.

The FREE run for this weekend will be 12, 13 & 15 miles at 8 am starting from Road Runner Sports Tualatin at 8 am. For driving directions see: This week's course will be a scenic run through Tualatin using the first 6 -7.5 miles of the route see Please leave your headphones, dogs and baby joggers at home. RRS will offer and aid station at mile 5 both out and back, but we suggest carrying water for better hydration.


Seminar Three of the Training Clinic is 7- 9:30 pm Room 104 Health Information Center, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, 19300 SW 65th Avenue, Tualatin, OR 97062. The clinic will discuss the mental preparation for the marathon and sports nutrition. The coaches will help you train for the psychological part of the marathon and help you learn to fuel for both training and racing .You can register for this session ($30) on line at or at the door. Our physical therapist will be there early to help you with any injury problems.


The FREE runs this Saturday will be 12, 14 & 16 miles at 8 am from Mountain Hardwear, 722 SW Taylor, Portland. The doors will be open at 7:30 am. Achieve a faster, better marathon/half marathon by participating in the Advanced Marathon/ Half Marathon Training Program Thursday nights 6pm Duniway park. This 16 week speedwork program is for experienced marathoners/half marathoners running either the Portland Marathon/Half marathon or other October, November marathons/half marathons. You need to preregister online and registrations are limited. The coaches are RRCA certified running coaches with over 30 years of experience coaching marathoners.
