Kathy Fedr has been running marathons since 1987. She became a group leader in 1988 and looks forward to the Portland Marathon Clinic every year. She is a certified RRCA coach. She has done a 100 miler, a 24-Hour track run, multiple 50 milers and 50K's. She feels the Portland Marathon Clinic has made it possible for her to be running as long as she has with few injuries. She enjoys being a group leader and helping runners achieve their goals, especially beginning marathoners.

FREE TRAINING RUN AUG 3, 8:00 AM
The FREE run for this weekend will be 16 or 20 miles starting from Road Runner Sports Tualatin at 8 am. For driving directions see: http://www.teamoregon.com/pmc/runs/rrsdir.htm. This week's course will be a scenic run through Tualatin using the first 8- 10 miles of the route see http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=737. RRS will offer 2 aid stations at mile 4 & 8 both out and back, but we suggest carrying a water bottle for better hydration.
TRAINING RUN SAFETY AND COURTESY
· Stay on the sidewalks or bike path whenever available.
· Obey all traffic lights and rules.
· Stay on the side of the road facing traffic whenever possible.
· Stay with your group.
· Stay behind your group leader
· Share the sidewalk with other runners and walkers
· No headphones, no baby joggers, no bicycles
FREE TRAINING RUN SATURDAY AUG 10, 8AM
The 20 mile run this weekend will cover parts of the marathon course. The run starts and finishes at the marathon start SW 4th & Main . To find the start, see http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=1346. PMC will host post run refreshments. We will be running essentially the last 20 miles of the course including the St Johns Bridge. See http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=1514. for the course map. This is a 20 mile run on a loop course with no shortcuts or shorter distance options. Do not attempt this run unless you have recently completed a long run of 16 miles. Everyone MUST follow the safety rules which include staying on sidewalks where available, NO baby joggers, NO headphones, NO bikes. You must run with and stay with a group for your safety. Participants will need to park in the nearby parking garages. On street parking meters have 1 hour limits on Saturday. You must sign the waiver before you run. There will be 8 aid stations with water and sports drink along the run.

If you have raced, go to http://www.teamoregon.com/publication/online/wizard.php and get your marathon goal based on your race times. Groups are led by volunteer experienced marathoners. Groups range from those able to run a marathon under 3 hours to those wanting to run 5 hours.
AID STATIONS!! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! AUG 10, AUG 24 & SEPT 7
We need volunteers for the marathon course run Aug10, Mountain Hardwear run Aug 24 and the brunch run Sept 7. Ask your family to help out, they will get brunch on Sept 8 too. Before your turn, we call or email and remind you and tell you where and when to arrive. When you show up, we give you jugs of water, already diluted sports drink, cups, pitchers, garbage bags and first aid supplies. Some volunteers have been known to provide special treats such as jelly beans, gummy bears or tootsie rolls. You can ask your family to help as well. If you've never been a volunteer, this is your opportunity to help you fellow marathoners. Sign up this weekend or by emailing .
BUS & BRUNCH RUN SEPT 7 SATURDAY 7:30 AM
The Saturday run will be a mystery tour. Buses leave the parking lot at 7:30 am. You will be bused from the parking lot at Willamette Park to a secret location and run back to the Park where you will get some brunch. The run will be 20 miles one way. You must purchase tickets ahead of time, space on the buses is limited. The tickets are $10 and are available at the training runs, at Road Runner Sports in Tualatin and lululemon athletica on Couch All tickets MUST be purchased by Sept 1 and NONE will be available the day of the run. No ticket, no bus! You will need to purchase a ticket and ride the bus to do the run. There are no refunds on bus tickets; the run is for ticket holders only.
Parking at Willamette Park .You must pay to park at Willamette Park using the City meters and the parking is limited. We suggest you carpool and park in the local neighborhood.
