MEET GROUP LEADER BILL

Bill has a running philosophy "Running is community; if I run with you, then you are on my team, you are family and there is nothing that I won't do for you". He is currently training for the 2018 Chicago Marathon. When he's not leading for the Clinic, Bill coaches high school runners, saying that he is constantly "humbled by their honesty, intelligence and talent". Thank you, Bill, for being a fantastic pace group leader!

TRAINING RUN JULY 28 VANCOUVER LAKE, WA

This year we see more osprey nests than usual at Vancouver Lake! Flat 16, 18 or 20 mile runs are offered Saturday, 8AM. The run begins at Vancouver Lake Park, 7 miles west of Vancouver. For driving directions see http://www.teamoregon.com/pmc/runs/vandir.htm. There is a $3 parking fee, payable by exact cash or credit. Please NO headphones, dogs or baby joggers. There are nice restrooms and, of course, a cool shallow lake for wading after the run. Runners will enjoy a tasty frozen surprise at the end of their run, courtesy of the coaches! Take a look at the course on http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=170.

TRAINING RUN AUGUST 4 ATHLETA WASHINGTON SQUARE

The run this weekend will offer 16 and 20 mile options starting from Athleta Washington Square. Mall opens at 6 AM for indoor walkers. Best place to park is by food court, but all entrances and bathrooms are open, plan to use one in the mall on the way to Athleta. Map of the mall layout is here: http://www.shopwashingtonsquare.com/Directory/Map The course will use parts of the Fanno Creek Trail, see http://www.teamoregon.com/maps/index.php?id=10760. Athleta will supply two aid stations and you will access them twice. Runs are warm! Carrying water or sports drink is a MUST for all, for health and safety. Please no headphones, dogs or baby joggers.

TRAINING RUN AID STATIONS!!

If you are training using the free long runs, you must volunteer for an aid station. There are 2 Saturdays left to fulfill this obligation Volunteers are needed for Aug 11 on the marathon course and Sept 8 for the brunch run. You may use family and friends on your behalf. Volunteers on Brunch run day get to enjoy a free brunch! Sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0848a5a72da2fc1-thank1. Before your turn, we email you with details. When you show up, we give you jugs of water, already diluted sports drink, cups, pitchers, garbage bags and first aid supplies. Some volunteers have been known to provide special treats such as jelly beans, gummy bears or Skittles. If you've never been a volunteer, this is your opportunity to help you fellow marathoners. Without you, these runs are not safe and they are not possible.
