2008 Portland Marathon Clinic
The Portland Marathon Clinic offers programs leading to the successful completion of the Portland Marathon. Established in 1984 the Clinic has helped thousands of runners and walkers to sucessfully complete their first marathon. 100's of others have achieved their personal bests. It provides proven, safe and supported programs. It is the sanctioned official training program for the Portland Marathon. Email addresses are used exclusively for Portland Marathon Training Clinic information and events. REGULAR Clinic - Seminars start April 9, FREE runs start April 5Our REGULAR Clinic is intended for those with little or no previous marathon experience. We have 5 levels of training programs for those running as little as 10 miles/week to those running as much as 50 miles/week. All training is individualized based on the runners experience and ability. The clinic consists of 5 evening seminar sessions and FREE group training runs with groups for all paces. Seminars are Wednesday 7:00 - 9:30PM, Kaiser Permanente Town Hall, 3704 N. Interstate Avenue, Portland. Parking in Kaiser Garage. ADVANCED Marathon Clinic Starts June 19thThis 16 week program is for experienced marathoners who preferably have previously attended our REGULAR Clinic. It will offer midweek coached run or track session plus 16 week personalized online schedule and log in addition to the free Saturday runs. The midweek runs will meet at Duniway Park Thursday 6pm starting June 19th. Runs will include fartlek, hill runs and track workouts to prepare runners to race the marathon. The cost will be $60. Prerequisites for the program are previous marathon experience, running a minimum of 30 miles a week and completion of a 14 mile long run in June.
FREE RunsFor the Marathon trainee, we provide FREE
group training run opportunities. You do NOT have to be a seminar
participant to do our runs, everyone is welcome. Aid is provided
on the course for runs longer than 10 miles. Bring along your
dry clothes, snack and favorite replacement drink for afterwards.
FREE weekend long run schedule. All runs start at 8AM.
All runs start promptly at 8:00AM. Up to
